Data controller
Cairnel Ltd, registered in England and Wales (Company No. 17335939), is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice.
What data we collect
- Email addresses submitted via the project monitoring sign-up form, the Grid Queue Pulse subscribe form, the "Get in touch" link, or any enquiry email sent to us
- Name and email address provided at Stripe payment when subscribing
- Any project information you share with us in an enquiry or onboarding email
- Anonymous, aggregate visit and page-view counts via Vercel Web Analytics (see Cookies, below)
Why we collect it
To respond to enquiries, and to deliver the monitoring subscription service to subscribers — including onboarding a watchlist, sending change alerts, and providing subscriber support.
Lawful basis
Legitimate interests, for responding to enquiries from prospective subscribers. Contract performance, for delivering the subscription service to active subscribers. Consent, where we ask for it explicitly (for example, before adding an email address to a mailing list beyond direct enquiry correspondence).
Data processors
We use the following processors to operate the service:
- Stripe — payment processing
- Resend — transactional email delivery (subscriber alerts and onboarding emails)
- Vercel — website hosting and privacy-friendly web analytics (Vercel Web Analytics; no cookies, no IP address collection, visitors are not identifiable across sites, and session data is discarded after 24 hours)
- Google Workspace — business email
Each processor is contractually bound to process data only as instructed and to appropriate security standards.
Retention
- Enquiry emails: until the enquiry is resolved, plus 12 months
- Subscriber data: for the duration of the subscription, plus 3 years
- Payment records: 6 years, as required by HMRC
Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request its erasure or rectification, request a portable copy of it, and object to our processing of it. To exercise any of these rights, contact hello@cairnel.co.uk.
Complaints
If you believe we have not respected your rights, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
This site does not use cookies for analytics or marketing. We use Vercel Web Analytics, a cookieless service that does not collect IP addresses or any information that could identify you across sites, to understand aggregate visitor and page-view counts — see Data processors, above. Fonts are self-hosted — no external font CDN calls are made to third parties.
